Pixar Shorts: Knick Knack

In all the Pixar shorts, Knick Knack is the last one that is personally animated by John Lasseter when Pixar was still an independent company. Lasseter loved collecting souvenirs and liked the Looney Toons-style comedy that he created in Knick Knack. One of the cute features on this short film is the ending credits. Bobby McFerrin, who created the musical soundtrack as improvisation, was reading the placeholder credits that said blah-blah-blah-blah. He read it out loud and it remained on the film's score. It's one of those unintentional happenings that makes Knick Knack really cute. Knick Knack was released with the feature film Finding Nemo.
Knick Knack PlotA snowman named Knick is stuck inside his snow globe on a shelf and notices how much fun his sunny, hot souvenir friends are having on the other end. The Miami girl sitting poolside beckons him over which grabs his complete attention. Knick can't get out of his snow globe, though and he tries several methods to break the glass, including a jack hammer and explosives. The explosives tip his globe over and he lands inside a fish bowl. The snowman is angry at his failure only momentarily when he notices a pretty Atlantis mermaid in the fish bowl with him. Knick can't believe his good luck and begins running toward her. But his snow globe finally lands in the fish bowl too, right on top of him, trapping him once more.
