Tow Mater Takes the Lead
by Jeffery J.
Tow Mater Takes the Lead
Despite all that, it was awesome to see Mater get his props. He was a great "spy," even though he didn't even know that he was and in the end, he even gets the girl, a snazzy little sports car that looks better than Sally. Mater really stole the show as he went from country to country trying to stop the bad guys and repair his broken relationship with his best friend Lightning McQueen. He even stood out more that the spy cars he was teamed up with. Rarely so we see the silly character who made the show, take the lead, but Pixar did an excellent job. There was no way any other character could be "second man" like Mater was and there still be a great movie. With Mater it's either all or nothing. Mater got to use weapons and had various costumes in the movie, but none of that changed his down-home personality or his overall innocent and not at all annoying ignorance. Pixar did a great job of keeping the character true to its roots. In the end Mater also demonstrates that he can be of average intelligence, as long as the dilemma has something to do with car maintenance and mechanics. I loved the movie with Mater as the lead because of he was the same old Mater but we got to see a different side of him without his character being compromised. He showed the meaning of being a real friend and a true hero. |
