Toy Story Characters: The Background Characters
The minor Toy Story characters include many classic toys we all remember as children growing up. It's amazing how well they're represented in this film! Perhaps the most memorable, though, are the drone-like green Alien Squeeze Toys! Let's get acquainted with the minor, but important, characters in Toy Story.

Alien Squeeze Toys
These are the three-eyed green squeaky-squeezy toys that are in the arcade game where "The Claw" will come down and "Take them to a better place." The alien squeeze toys all tend to think and speak alike, they all look exactly the same with blue uniforms bearing the Pizza Planet logo. They're really cute and very original looking.
Etch
This Toy Story character is an Etch-A-Sketch who can very quickly draw such pictures as a pistol, portraits of Buzz Lightyear and Woody, and Hangman nooses.
Lenny
Functioning as the real thing, Lenny is a pair of binoculars. He also has feet and walks around. Whenever one of the toys needs to see something close up, Lenny's there to lend his big, round eyes to scope the scene.
The first time we see this is when Buzz uses Lenny to watch Sid Phillips and his dog Scud in their back yard as Sid explodes a Combat Carl.
Mike
In Toy Story, Mike helps Woody out during the toy meetings because Mike's a toy tape recorder and microphone.
Mr. Spell
Based on the popular Speak & Spell toy popular in the 1970's, Mr. Spell is a very minor character not seen a whole lot in the movie. Probably being played with by Molly!
RC
A remote controlled little dune-buggy style car, RC is green with blue splashes on his body. He's got big headlight eyes and a spoiler in the back. RC helps Woody and Buzz Lightyear race to get to the moving truck and the family car at the end of the Toy Story movie. This little car can go fast uhhh... until his batteries run out...
Rocky
Rocky's the strongest toy in Andy's room, who is a wrestling action figure who doesn't talk. Toward the end of the movie in the back of the moving truck, he twirls Woody around and throws him out the back. He also realized he was wrong and lowers the ramp to rescue Woody, Buzz and RC.
Sarge
Always in top military form, Sarge leads his disciplined group of plastic Bucket O Soldiers troops on reconnaissance missions to see what gifts are given for birthdays and Christmases. Sarge and his green army men often help out Andy's toys and he reports directly to Woody.
Shark
Also known as Mr. Shark, he's a grey rubber squeeze toy hanging out in Woody's toy box. Shark is a bit of a joker and a very minor, but likable character.
